About
MeiMoi is a small, independent collection of developer tools and guides, built and maintained by Wikum.
Why this site exists
I'm a software developer who spends a lot of time building web and mobile apps, APIs and the infrastructure around them. Like most developers, I lean on small utilities constantly: pretty-printing an API response, checking when a token expires, encoding a query parameter, generating test IDs. The sites I found for these jobs were often slow, covered in pop-ups, or uploaded everything I pasted to their servers, which is a bad idea when the thing you're pasting is a production access token.
MeiMoi is my answer to that: the tools I actually use, written to be quick, clear and private.
How the tools work
Every tool on this site is a static web page. All processing happens in your browser using standard web technologies such as JSON.parse, TextEncoder, URL and the Web Crypto API. There's no application server receiving your input, no database storing it and no account to create. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools, or by loading a page and then disconnecting from the internet.
How the guides are written
Each tool page includes an explanation of how to use it, how the underlying format or standard works, and the mistakes I see most often. The blog goes deeper on topics that deserve more than a few paragraphs. I write from practical experience and check details against primary sources such as RFCs, MDN Web Docs, the WHATWG URL standard and NIST publications. If you spot an error, please tell me and I'll correct it.
How the site is funded
The tools are free. To cover hosting and development time, the site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads never have access to the data you enter into a tool. See the privacy policy for details.
